'This Is Us' Digs Into Why Kate Feels Guilty Over Jack's Death and It's Heartbreaking

Did This Is Us just reveal why Kate feels responsible for Jack’s death?
Now that we know more about how Jack died, the quest to fill in the blanks when it comes to his untimely demise -- somehow connected to a house fire -- begins. Tuesday’s episode, cheekily titled “A Manny-Splendored Thing,” explores the Pearson patriarch’s secret battle with alcoholism, which may have played a part in his impending death, and possibly shed light on why Kate carries guilt over her role in it.

The episode picks up in the ‘90s, moments after Jack gets into the car with Rebecca, after she pulls a “Jack” and tells her husband that they will fight his drinking -- which he kept secret from his wife and his kids for a long time -- together. But remember, this wasn’t the first time Jack was forced to deal with his drinking problem. In the ‘80s, Rebecca sat Jack down in the season one episode, “The Big Three,” after he returned home late one night, telling him that his drinking needed to stop. He agreed and things seemed well and good, only, it’s revealed in this hour, that kicking the habit back then proved to be a painful and difficult process.

Sophie Perry explained  on Instagram  how she's "received a lot of attention online" following her father's death. "But I'm not going to sit in my room and cry day in and day out until the internet has deemed it appropriate for me to do otherwise," she continued. Professor Stephen Hawking's nurse struck off over his care

Stephen Hawking died in March last year Professor Stephen Hawking's nurse has been struck off for failures over his care and financial misconduct. Patricia Dowdy, 61, who worked for the renowned scientist for 15 years, was handed an interim suspension in 2016,  it emerged at the weekend. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has now found she did not "provide the standards of good, professional care we expect and Professor Hawking deserved". Mrs Dowdy told The Mail on Sunday  she was upset and did not want to comment. The NMC made its decision to remove Mrs Dowdy, from Ipswich, from the nursing register at a private hearing in London. A fitness to practise panel said Mrs Dowdy's behaviour amounted to financial misconduct, dishonesty, not providing appropriate care, failing to cooperate with the NMC and not having the correct qualifications.

DR Congo: Violence may be crime against humanity, UN says

It says at least 500 people were killed, including families burnt alive in their homes and a two-year-old who was thrown into a septic tank.
