WTF Is The OA? Netflix Tasks Stranger Things, The Crown and More to Explain
WTF is The OA?
It's a question that has been plaguing viewers since Netflix started
its stealth promotion and subsequent release of the series from and
starring Brit Marling.
What Is The OA?
Is a question we tried to answer for you as well, the befuddling series
has Prairie Johnson (Marling) at the center of it. Prairie is a blind
young woman who disappears for years, only to return with her sight
restored, mysterious scars and a crazy story. That description is just
scratching the surface. Still confused? That's where Netflix comes in,
with the help of its other shows.
The video above features clips from Orange Is the New Black, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Crown, Black Mirror, Stranger Things and Narcos cut together to explain the gist of the mysterious sci-fi show. However, what they don't tell you, well, spoiler alert—
The OA
stands for the original angel—that'd be Prairie—and Prairie's story
about being held captive with others who all suffered near death
experiences. The series features Prairie relaying her story to some new
followers of sorts who learn the Movements from her, they then use the
Movements (a dance of sorts) to…stop a school shooting. But, naturally
there's a twist, it seems Prairie's story—her Russian background, her
kidnapping, the whole angel deal—could all be a lie. The OA also stars Phyllis Smith, Emory Cohen, Scott Wilson, Alice Krige, Patrick Gibson, Brendan Meyer, Brandon Perea, Ian Alexander and Jason Isaacs. Still don't know what The OA is about? Season one is now on Netflix

Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei: The US 'cannot crush us' Hong Kong : Huawei's founder is striking a defiant tone in the face of American attempts to curb the Chinese tech giant's international reach and prosecute his daughter. "There's no way the US can crush us," Ren Zhengfei said in an interview with the BBC that aired Tuesday. "The world needs Huawei because we are more advanced." Huawei, the world's largest telecommunications equipment maker, is battling a US-led campaign to persuade American allies to shut the company's technology out of super-fast 5G networks. Australia and New Zealand have already restricted mobile operators from using Huawei gear for 5G. The United Kingdom, Germany and others are considering whether to clamp down as well. The US government argues Huawei's products could be exploited by Chinese intelligence services for spying — a claim the company has repeatedly denied. US pros...
Former President Donald Trump on Saturday said he thinks adults in Florida shouldn’t be arrested for having “personal amounts” of marijuana in their possession, as the state’s voters are set to weigh in this November on recreational use of the drug. Trump said in a new post on Truth Social that he thought the proposal, known as Amendment 3, would pass. “In Florida, like so many other States that have already given their approval, personal amounts of marijuana will be legalized for adults with Amendment 3. Whether people like it or not, this will happen through the approval of the Voters, so it should be done correctly,” Trump wrote. Trump called for the Florida state legislature to “responsibly create laws that prohibit the use of it in public spaces, so we do not smell marijuana everywhere we go, like we do in many of the Democrat run Cities.” “At the same time, someone should not be a criminal in Florida, when this is legal in so many other States. We do...
President John F Kennedy and Jackie on that fateful day in Texas. Lee Harvey Oswald should have been under surveillance, John F Kennedy’s assassination could have been stopped Two days after the assassination of Lee Harvey Oswald by Jack Ruby, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director J. Edgar Hoover issued a strong plea to the Justice Department that there be no independent investigation into the death of President John F Kennedy . Hoover knew that if the FBI and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had done their job Kennedy would never have been shot. Hoover succeeded in claiming national security concerns were at stake and he never told the true story even under oath to the Warren Report. That story was that due to utter incompetence by the FBI and CIA Kennedy had lost his life in Dallas. Lee Harvey Oswald under surveillance The documents show Oswald was immediately portrayed by them as a lone wolf, a ...
