Ireland’s most popular entertainer, Tommy Fleming will be appearing in concert at Symphony Space on Friday, October 21, 8pm, as part of his 10 City U.S. tour.
Tommy has just finished a tour of Ireland, starring in the sensational new musical drama, “Paddy”.
He is eagerly looking forward to returning to New York where he had triumphant appearances as a guest star with Phil Coulter at Carnegie Hall and a sold-out solo performance at Town Hall.
Tommy Fleming has many times been described as the "Voice of Ireland" and is one of Ireland's top entertainers. Tommy was born in Aclare, Co. Sligo Ireland in 1971 and was the youngest of six children. He started singing while still at school while fronting his own local band. A chance encounter with Phil Coulter at a charity function near his home lead to a big break onto the world stage where Tommy appeared as a guest singer on Phil's USA tour.  He then joined the trad super-group De Dannan, following in the footsteps of Mary Black, Dolores Keane and Maura O’Connell.
He then embarked on his solo career. Tommy turns each song into his own with his  unique and powerful style, touching emotions in you that only music can reach. Tommy is famous for his own arrangement of "Danny Boy", "Isle of Inisfree" and "Hard Times" all songs that you know and love but you have never heard them until you hear Tommy Fleming's versions.  He also covers songs from "You Raise Me Up" to "Bridge over Troubled Waters"and "From a Distance,"  along with more contemporary numbers.

Sophie Perry explained  on Instagram  how she's "received a lot of attention online" following her father's death. Professor Stephen Hawking's nurse struck off over his care

Stephen Hawking died in March last year Professor Stephen Hawking's nurse has been struck off for failures over his care and financial misconduct. Patricia Dowdy, 61, who worked for the renowned scientist for 15 years, was handed an interim suspension in 2016,  it emerged at the weekend. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has now found she did not "provide the standards of good, professional care we expect and Professor Hawking deserved". Mrs Dowdy told The Mail on Sunday  she was upset and did not want to comment. The NMC made its decision to remove Mrs Dowdy, from Ipswich, from the nursing register at a private hearing in London. A fitness to practise panel said Mrs Dowdy's behaviour amounted to financial misconduct, dishonesty, not providing appropriate care, failing to cooperate with the NMC and not having the correct qualifications.

DR Congo: Violence may be crime against humanity, UN says

It says at least 500 people were killed, including families burnt alive in their homes and a two-year-old who was thrown into a septic tank.
